Microsoft Integrating Chat GPT to Viva Sales and Teams!

As one of the leading tech giants in the world, you can only expect that Microsoft always runs high on innovations. Its recent OpenAI partnership is only one of them. And, if you haven’t plugged in the news yet, it is a multiyear, multibillion-dollar collaboration that aims to hasten AI advancements so that these advantages are widely distributed worldwide.

Since ECF Data is a Microsoft-certified Gold Partner, you can be assured that we’ll keep you updated here. If you want to read our previous blog, OpenAI and Azure, you can start reading this blog. Continuing the series, we’re keeping you updated with the latest news about the Chat GPT integration with Viva Sales and Microsoft Teams.

What is Chat GPT?

A language model called Chat GPT was created by OpenAI, the same company that collaborated with Microsoft. It is a member of a broader family of GPT (Generative Pre-trained Transformer) models trained using enormous volumes of text data to produce responses to prompts that resemble those of a human being.

Chat GPT can reply to various themes and conversations because it was trained on multiple text materials, including books, papers, and web pages. It can then be used as a language model for various things, such as chatbots, question-and-answer platforms, and language translation.

The capacity of Chat GPT to produce superior, human-like responses to text prompts has garnered significant recognition and popularity. However, it is simply one of many AI technologies created by OpenAI. It has been applied in various settings, such as social networking, educational applications, and customer service.

Consider it a better Siri or Alexa if the explanation needs to be simplified. While you can ask questions with it, one of its main differentiators is that it can remember past information and conversation.

Chat GPT uses a deep learning method called a transformer network to provide human-like responses to requests. Here is a little explanation of how it operates:

  • Pre-training: Chat GPT is trained on an extensive corpus of text data utilizing an unsupervised learning approach. Pre-training involves teaching the model to recognize correlations and patterns in text data by foretelling the following word in a string of words.
  • Fine-tuning: After pre-training, the model can be improved to do a particular task, such as producing text or answering questions. A smaller dataset relevant to the current job must be used.
  • Response Generation: In response to a prompt, Chat GPT creates a reaction by determining, using its training data, the most likely string of words to come after the prompt. Longer paragraphs of text and shorter answers can be produced using the approach.

Chat GPT uses a combination of attention processes and language models to create responses. While language modeling enables the model to forecast the most probable sequence of words to follow the prompt, the attention mechanisms allow the model to concentrate on different parts of the input sequence when creating its response.

The New AI-powered experience with Viva Sales

Microsoft has added new generative AI-based features for Viva Sales to enhance customer service. The new AI tool will automatically produce preformatted email responses with unique language, promotion offers, pricing data, and deadlines, thanks to OpenAI’s GPT 3.5.

Microsoft claims that Dynamics 365 and Salesforce customer relationship management (CRM) data will be used to produce the email answers. Using customized text prompts or a predefined list of response categories, Viva Sales users can create suggested responses. The sales teams can adjust the suggested reply to match their individual requirements.

According to Lori Lamkin, CVP for Dynamics 365 Customer Experience Platform, Viva Sales will propose email text for various circumstances. It includes responding to an inquiry or composing a proposal with information especially pertinent to the recipient, such as price, promotions, and deadlines. Thanks to auto-suggested customizable content, sellers can spend less time writing emails and looking up sales information from coworkers and databases.

This new feature can significantly help organizations as managing email takes over 66% of a seller’s task list, based on Microsoft’s newly commissioned research.

Microsoft stressed that businesses aiming to increase client interaction should appreciate the auto-generated email content in Viva Sales. Microsoft intends to upgrade the Viva Sales app later this year with more AI-powered capabilities that will assist sellers in automating their routine operations.

Better Meetings with Microsoft Teams

The pace of work and the amount of information that needs to be sifted through have increased enormously, notably with meetings, with a 252% rise in weekly meetings in the first two years of COVID. During meetings, a ton of time-consuming administrative work needs to be done, such as taking notes, identifying key takeaways, and collecting the appropriate action items and owners.

To help you be more productive in innovative ways, Microsoft Teams integrates AI into the meeting experience. The following are the highlighted new features:

Intelligent Recap

It will help you receive the necessary information even if you miss the meeting by providing automatically created meeting notes, suggested tasks, and tailored highlights. Additionally, it can reduce the time spent listening to meeting recordings. The conference is divided into sections with AI-generated chapters, making it simple for you to select the information that is most pertinent to you. For recordings of PowerPoint Live meetings, this is accessible right now. The intelligent recap will automatically create meeting chapters based on the meeting transcript.

Also, there might be specific discussions from a meeting that you wish to go over again.

Personalized Timeline Markers

Personalized timeline markers, currently available and exclusively visible to you, point out when you entered or exited a meeting on the recording, allowing you to click and hear what you missed easily. Your name will appear next to personalized timeline markers showing when a screen was shared and when it was mentioned.

Speaker Timeline Markers

These customized meeting highlights will soon feature speaker timeline markers that allow you to jump to a specific moment in the meeting and show you who talked when. Because speaker timeline markers are intelligently arranged according to your closest collaborators, you’ll always see your manager’s input during a meeting.

*Teams Premium has a monthly subscription of $10 or, for a brief time, $7.

Coming Soon

AI-produced action points and notes generated automatically and powered by GPT-3.5 will also be available soon.

In conclusion, integrating Chat GPT into Microsoft Viva Sales and Teams is a game-changer for businesses looking to streamline their communication and collaboration processes. By leveraging the power of AI technology, Microsoft is enabling organizations to work smarter, not harder. With the ability to easily access information, communicate with colleagues across different departments and locations, and automate routine tasks, companies can increase productivity and efficiency like never before. As Microsoft continues to innovate and evolve its products, we can expect even more exciting developments in the future that will transform the way we work.

Stay tuned for our future blogs to get more information about the ongoing developments of Open AI and Microsoft’s partnership!
