Power Platform’s 5th Newest Family Member, Now Here!

The population only houses .26-.5% of people who know how to code. And, given that it is advanced knowledge to acquire, it would take time to learn just a single programming language. Moreover, using only a single programming language would not be enough in website building. For a stylish, modern, and functional website, approximately three or four websites are needed to be learned.

Microsoft is on an incessant winning streak as they welcome its fifth and latest member of the Power Platform family. For several years, the Power Platform has already helped organizations create and develop complex business solutions, draw and analyze data visualization, create virtual agents for communication, and automate business processes. They have recently welcomed the newest member to the family, pursuing the low-code or no-code movement.

What is Microsoft Power Pages?

Power Pages is a Software as a Service (SaaS) platform for building, configuring, and publishing business-oriented webpages and applications to communicate with partners and clients. It promises the following: enterprise-quality, secure, and low code. Like the other products under the Power Platform (Power App, Power BI, Power Automate, and Power Virtual Agents), Power Pages empowers users without requiring a comprehensive technical background.

How Power Pages can give more power to your business

  1. Use Case #1: Book a meeting without the hassle :

Setting up a meeting always consists of two parties- the client and the organization’s representative. What is supposedly a simple task should really shouldn’t cause stress to anyone. But, because it comes with a complicated platform, unresponsive attendants, or faulty booking system, simple becomes complicated.

Power Pages makes your appointment-booking a breeze. The representative can manage the create, manage, and schedule meetings, block the schedule for days off, prior commitments, and be notified in case there are changes. At the same time, customers can easily set the meeting, change the time, or cancel with only a few clicks.

  2. Use Case #2: Make an FAQ site to better engage with your customers

In this world today, customers look for connections and building relationships, especially in business. Give your customers a deep dive about your company, products, services, and policies. Additionally, FAQs helps save time of both your customers and employees.

Power Pages give you and your clients an opportunity to connect without the need of employing a website or IT expert.  Providing a platform for your clients and address their most asked questions and repeatedly make these statements puts you in a better position.

  3.  Use Case #3: Streamline permit applications and grants

Permit applications and grants for different industries like healthcare, government, and education can be an overwhelming task. Besides dealing with a mountain of documents, organizing and ensuring that it reaches the appropriate personnel are only some tasks that revolve around just a portion of the companies’ to-dos.

Power Pages can simplify it by presenting the application process, documents they need to upload or submit, contact information, etc., doing all these on a low-code platform? Who would’ve thought!

  4. Use Case #4: Promote your event and gather your attendees

Organizing a company event, whether exclusive to internal employees or open to partners and clients, is not a foreign concept. In fact, tasks like these are included in most companies’ annual lists. Whether you’re holding a conference, launching a course, or introducing a new product, Power Pages can help you reach out to your audience and gather a mailing list to help them be more informed about the event.

  5. Use Case #5: Make a course signup page

The education industry can significantly benefit from making a landing page like this because they can offer online and offline courses for their students. Some of the inclusions of your landing page can be:

    • The sign-up page for the specific program
    • Content/subject
    • Requirements needed.
    • Contact information.

What are the benefits of Microsoft Power Pages?

Even though Power Pages is juxtaposed with competition, we cannot deny the anticipation of its release and its soaring in the low-code revolution field.

  1. Power Pages integrate with other Power Platform components and other services.  The saying, “Powerful alone. Better together.” is a true testament to the entire Microsoft Power Platform. And it is no exception that Power Pages rides on that quick and easy low-code programming capability created for. Integrating it with other applications like DataVerse, Azure DevOps, and other Power Platform apps extends its potential tenfold. More advanced users can also automate web development workflows by integrating them into GitHub and Visual Studio.
  2. Designing a website can be done by citizen developers. The term “digital transformation” seems overused by this time and the question that leads to it is “how is it done?” It is why the rise of citizen developers came about. They are regular users who can access no-code solutions to create a particular business app. The low-code nature of Power Apps allows users that do not have the programming expertise to develop websites. It can be a refresher for businesses to gain new insights and fresh ideas and spare the time of the IT team.
  3. Users have to option to build from scratch or pre-designed templates Power Pages come with a Design Studio, making it easy for users to configure, design, and publish business websites. Depending on your preference, you can work on a blank slate or work with the available templates. You can easily plug in images, videos, data forms, texts, lists, etc.
  4. Power Pages can help you save time and money. Usually, building a website takes about five to six months. Building content, ensuring all the elements are in place, and having different people review it are only some of the factors for the delay. Because you can drag and drop the other elements and place them wherever you want, building a website can take minutes. It will also be a definitive advantage for your company because your employees can dwell on more critical tasks than spend weeks on a single project. Companies planning to outsource a third party for this specific function can allot that investment to other vital matters.
  5. Put security a priority. Most companies’ reason why they refuse low-code websites is because of the security risk. Power Pages is built with the most robust security model, providing companies the confidence of adequately protected business information. Some secure access components include web roles, authenticated users, and table and page permissions.    In addition, because Power Pages is built with the Power App portal foundation, many of the methods and tools used to configure Power Pages are on the functionality of Power Apps portals. Page permissions can be used to restrict webpage and related child page access.
  6.
