PROJECT SCOPE

The Scope of Services that was provided in a Statement of Work included working with Regeneron Pharmaceuticals Inc. team to Change Management process of Microsoft Team's Application Conferencing and Calling. ECF Data will meet the following Services Objectives.

  • Defining change management strategy, define reports and updates for the change management team, and aide in developing sponsorship model during the Change Management Initiation Phase
  • Work with various Regeneron departments to implement Microsoft Team's Voice, Conference, Application Sharing and Chat.
  • Development and Execution of the Measurement Plan (Tied to End User Adoption)
  • Provide support for the Regeneron Change Manager for the Microsoft Team's Voice, Conference, Application Sharing and Chat Project
  • Work with vendors and internal staff as it relates to the Change Management process for the Microsoft Team's Voice, Conference, Application Sharing and Chat Project.
  • Work with Regeneron to Identify your key stakeholders, champions, and user profiles
  • Conduct a pilot that includes business users, champions, and IT professionals.
  • Build a champion program alongside your service deployment with Regeneron

There may be no words used to describe the impact brought by the novel coronavirus. Ironically, even for a company that formulates a cure for serious illnesses can have its operations be affected. Regeneration Pharmaceuticals leads the medical industry by utilizing its homegrown technologies to discover, develop, research, and deliver medicines for people with serious diseases. Eye diseases, cancer, allergic and inflammatory diseases, metabolic and cardiovascular diseases, pain, and infectious diseases are some of the conditions targeted by these medicines and pipeline created.

Dealing with "The New Normal"

Like the majority of the industries, pharmaceutical companies are vastly affected by the pandemic. Despite the importance of Regeneron's service, following the restriction rules imposed by the government need to be observed. It includes working-from-home to ensure the safety of its 8,900 employees.

Communication is an integral part on the execution of the various tasks of its employees. Aside from the remote set-up, being scattered around its eight satellite offices around the world adds to the challenges of the company. Given the uncertainty of the pandemic sustaining the work-from-home environment is necessary for Regeneron.

Aside from carrying out internal processes, communicating with partners is also essential for Regeneron as collaborations, be it business development or academic and research, is essential for the company's success.

Regenerating new way

Regeneron Pharmaceuticals partnered with ECF Data to aid in the Change Management Process of Microsoft Team's Application Conferencing and Calling. The need for a standardized and simple solution to permit each department and office to collaborate on different devices was prioritized. A three-stepped strategy was recommended by ECF to complete the entire process: Envision, Onboard, and Drive Value. This approach was tailor-fitted according to Regeneron's needs.

Included in the tasks concentrates on the goal of delivering a reliable, scalable, and most importantly, secure Office 365 Platform and Teams environment. Lance Peet, Director IT Service Delivery Manager of Regeneron Pharmaceuticals said that "Getting on-board with Microsoft 365 did not require much thinking. Albeit armed with the necessary equipment top-level staff, and years of scientific experience, crafting the coronavirus treatment and vaccine during a pandemic can be quite tasking.

The lockdown restrictions translated to certain limitations for Regeneron's usual operations. Moreover, shifting to a remote environment impedes certain functions, most especially with communication Peet stated that "Working remotely is not a strange concept but for Regeneron, having something specific for our organization's needs permits us to be fully-functional despite being at home."

Socially distanced Communication

Implementing Teams on Regeneron Pharmaceuticals' system allowed a seamless and efficient transition from office to remote set-up. Through the Conference, Chat, Application Sharing, and Voice.

Regeneron has engaged ECF Data to provide guidance for Teams Governance and Engineering Services to Regeneron to review design, implementation and migration documents and strategies for Teams Services. The nature of these tasks will focus on the objective of providing a secure, reliable, and scalable Office 365 Platform and Teams environment.

Everyone in the know

Through the adoption of Microsoft Teams, employees were able to foster conversation through different channels like emails, online meetings, chats, tasks, and shared files, all in one platform. According to Regeneron's IT Service Delivery Manager Director Lance Peet, "the simple interface made it easier to navigate, even for those who are not tech-savvy."

Keeping everyone informed also was addressed by the Microsoft Teams. Copying someone or a group of people on an email is made easier through the @-mention feature during online meetings and chat We saw a great turn-out in our employees productivity because the message is quickly disseminated

The future is bright for Regeneron

In a span of a couple of months, the different departments and employee were able to improve the communication channels withou interrupting the flow of the business.
